About the Event

Grow Beyond the Classroom

The VOC Global Launch marked the beginning of a shared journey to build a global community where educators, leaders, and changemakers connect, exchange perspectives, and contribute to the future of education.

Bringing together voices from different countries and educational backgrounds, the event celebrated the vision of Voices of Change: creating opportunities for meaningful collaboration, professional growth, and positive impact beyond geographical and institutional boundaries.

Together, we’ll explore how educators can grow beyond the classroom through collaboration, leadership, and community.

Dr. Eric Hawkinson

Founder of Together Learning | Japan

In his session, "Why the AI Generation Needs What We Never Had," Dr. Hawkinson will explore why community, connection, and collaboration may be more important than ever in a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence.

As educators, learners, and professionals navigate rapid technological change, his message offers a timely reminder that some of our greatest opportunities for growth still come from the people around us.

Mary Scholl

The Institute for Collaborative Learning | USA/Costa Rica

Mary has dedicated her work to helping educators learn together, support one another, and build stronger communities through collaboration.
Her message reminds us why communities matter:
"Teacher communities create spaces where we can learn from one another, support one another, and grow together. Everyone has something valuable to offer."

Dr. Maria Guajardo

MG Leadership Design, LLC | USA

Dr. Guajardo believes that community helps us feel seen, connected, and inspired to become our best selves. During our panel, she'll share her experiences of how learning alongside others can transform both educators and the communities they serve.

Prof. Brent Warner

Podcaster, Irvine Valley College | USA

Brent is known internationally for his work in education, podcasting, and helping teachers connect, collaborate, and grow together.

His message is simple but powerful:
"Being proactive in finding and participating in communities that align with our vision for the future is the best way to ensure that we grow and create a better world."

Hind Elyas

TESOL, Alfalak, Award Winner | Saudi Arabia

Hind is a TESOL professional, Alfalak contributor, and award-winning educator from Saudi Arabia who believes strongly in the power of community.
Her message is simple but powerful:
"When we share experiences, challenges, and ideas, we create opportunities for meaningful change."

Dr. Robert Stroud

VOC Founding Member | England/Japan

Robert is a Professor at Hosei University in Tokyo, an AI in education researcher, Founder of The University Grapevine, and Founder of Culture Club. His work focuses on AI, language education, human connection, and creating meaningful opportunities for global learning.

VOICES FROM OUR COMMUNITY

Praise for the Event

Community matters to me because it bridges the gap between pedagogical theory and classroom reality. In the Tunisian context, we often face the challenge of adapting high-level training to our specific environment.
